What is Netova?
Netova is the first modular data access layer for blockchains, pioneering a new era of seamless integration across multiple chains. It introduces specifications (specs), a modular primitive that empowers contributors to permissionlessly add support for new chains and data services to the core protocol. While RPC (Remote Procedure Call) is the initial service supported by the protocol, Netova is rapidly expanding its capabilities by integrating with indexing and API partners like Subsquid.
Data consumers send requests to Netova’s network of data providers (node operators), who participate in Netova to fulfill the demand for data. Netova creates dynamic, scalable markets around any blockchain data service. The protocol establishes crypto-economic guarantees around the quality of service, focusing on speed, uptime, and data accuracy.
By leveraging a modular architecture and a peer-to-peer network of node operators, Netova offers a unified platform for accessing the multi-chain world.
How Does It Work?
Developers and Data Consumers: With Netova, data consumers gain easy, fast, and reliable access to over 30 chains. The protocol incentivizes providers to offer high-performance service and algorithmically pairs consumers with the most suitable node available.
Data Providers (RPC Node Runners, Indexers, etc.): Providers join Netova to expand their reach to more developers and monetize their existing infrastructure. Netova's testnet includes 250+ providers, including major players like Blockdaemon. Netova also runs programmes called Incentivized Public RPC. In these programmes, chains like Ethereum are much better compensate node operators for delivering high-quality RPC services.
Why Choose Netova?
Quality of Service: Consumers monitor and rate providers based on response time, availability, and data freshness. Providers must attach their Quality of Service (QoS) scores when requesting rewards and are compensated accordingly.
Data Reliability: Providers undergo fraud and fault detection checks, where the network employs statistical inference and verifiably random selections to compare responses from multiple providers. If a conflict arises, the network relies on an honest majority of providers to determine the erroneous party, penalizing offenders.
Privacy & Anonymity: Relays are randomly distributed among a rotating list of top providers, reducing the likelihood of repeated service from the same provider over time. Consumer-provider communications occur directly, and identities are not linked to Netova Wallets.
Scalability: Netova is designed with scalability in mind. A streamlined reward system, aggregation, direct provider-dApp communication, and staking incentives enhance efficiency by minimizing network strain.
Decentralised Access: Netova encourages users to access the network in a fully decentralized manner. All relays on the network are conducted peer-to-peer (P2P).
Open Source: Committed to open-source development and modularity, Netova allows developers to explore the code for the chain and any implemented specs.
